THE PROJECT In the summer of 2005, after a very long break from video projects of any kind, and after talking about doing one for even longer, we finally got down to it. Mike, Matt B., and myself pushed the old Pontiac 6000 LE out of my parents garage, jumped it, and set out with a camera to record our footage. The concept was simple. Take a crappy old car that's on its last limb, film it and set it to fast paced techno music over a blast of rapid-fire edits. Essentially, we wanted to make fun of the car by making it look awesome. We set out to make our mock commercial and had a great time, although shooting did meet with some difficulty. The 6000 barely made it through our trials, which were no more than climbing hills and driving in circles. A few hours and several quarts of oil later, we retired the vehicle for the final time.
